I have a dumb question. Is there any way to get the whole picture on the American standard (non-hd) channels that are now in 16:9 aspect ratio on my HD-TV. I have a Pace HD set connected to my TV by HDMI cable.
Another Zoom is the # button on the remotes, which I would try before looking at TV settings.
# is more likely to be accidently pushed
Hi canthonyparkinson, On the standard definition channels you're watching, do they have the black bars on the top and bottom of the picture? You can stretch the picture to fill the TV from left to right but it won't do from top to bottom as the black bars will be part of the broadcast. On the other hand, zoom should do the trick.
That is not quite the problem. there are no black bars, the picture is the correct height, but only the center section is visible.
It sounds like zoom might be turned on. Try going into the TV settings and see what happens when display settings are turned back to default.
Good point from kevinds that I missed. The # button on the Shaw remote might also have been pushed.
Thanks, the "#" button was the answer I needed.
