Can I request a node split?

The fibre optic upgrade in the kootenays was completed a few months ago which would have increased the bandwidth to the entirety of the kootenays. However, I'm still experiencing heavy saturation during the day, and I'm getting a little fed up with it. This huge solution to all our problems hardly made a difference. I mean, now my ping is tolerable, but the download speed is still quite bad and I still occasionally get ping spikes.

Granted, it is the weekend, so it is saturated for larger time periods, but this is still far below what should be allowed. I remember reading somewhere that Shaw will start splitting nodes when average speeds drop below a certain threshold, I think it was around 8mbps (please confirm) during peak usage hours of the day, and this isn't even close to that time.

So on to the topic: My area desperately needs a node split, and I'm requesting it because I feel as though nothing will be done if I don't.
