Why does my satellite signal keep cutting in and out?
What does your signal strength show?
My suspision is that it is too low, and simple things like a small cloud are lowering it just that much more and giving you signal issues
Sounds like kevinds is on the right track... Does the signal keep cutting out on all channels or just specific channels? also, if you go into options on the reciever you can check the signal to see the range. For 6xx receivers if you go into Options - 4 (System Settings) and 7 (System Status) what does this give you for the Signal Strength and the Ecb/No - Line C (and E if it's a PVR). If the receiver is an older model then you would need to choose option 6 before 4 & 7. Finally, if these numbers don't match up at all / you have an older receiver you would want to check Options - 6 (Change System Settings) - 3 (Change Installation Settings) - 1 (Tune in Satellite Signal). This will give you a signal level number at the bottom of the screen.
The signal level numbers are like a percent - the higher the better but we're looking at least above 60 if possible but ideally higher. If you're getting a lower number than this than I suggest you give us a call at 1-888-554-7827 or use our click to chat option online available here - Our E-Care team will be able to respond to the online chat 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST, Monday to Friday.
If there is anymore that I can do please let me know - I'm happy to help!
