I have seen some mention they got an update to the cable modem to version 7.12.113 a week prior to the roll out of the main software update. Mine is currently at version 7.12.91 should I be concerned?

yes there is a concern as you should be running firmware version 7.12.118 and not 7.12.91.
the cable modem firmware is paired to the software, and proper operation required both to be updated. If one hasn't been, some weird things could be happening in the background without you knowing it. Updating the cable modem firmware has backwards compatibility with software that is "one version behind", however i don't think that holds necessarily true the other way around.
if you can pass along your account info to a mod, we will look into it.
