To refresh my receiver, do I need to be there or can I just have receiver on.
Plugged in and turned on should be enough, but you won't know if it was successful if you are not home
Were you trying to refresh your receiver yourself, or have this done by Shaw? Many problems can be resolved through a simple powercycle of the equipment (which you can do yourself by disconnecting power for 5-10 seconds, then reconnect). For some problems it may be necessary for us to reset your equipment from our end, which just requires that you have your equipment connected to power and cable at the time.
