PVR not recording / playback of shows very "choppy"

Hi there

 

I bought the 500GB Motorola PVR from Shaw several months ago. It was fine until about 3 months ago when I started having all sorts of problems, but I will describe the main one that is frustrating me a lot.

 

I would see error messages regarding shows I set up to record. The shows would either not be recorded or the playback would be very "choppy". That is, it would start and stop and the audio would cut in and out. It is very difficult to watch, so I end up stopping and deleting the recording.

 

I have tried rebooting the PVR, but it is a temporary solution. I have noticed that the PVR will reboot itself, but even that seems to be a temporary fix.

 

Is there a more permanent solution to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
