I have Shaw phone, Shaw direct, And Shaw internet. I have heard that incoming phone calls can be displayed on the tv screen. i cant see this listed as a feature. Does anyone have info on this?
Which Satellite box do you have? I have not tried this with Shaw Phone so a Shaw Direct rep will have to confirm this .
9C. CALLER ID LOG
If you have connected your HDDSR 605 or HDPVR 630 receiver to your residential telephone
line and subscribe to Caller ID through your local phone company, incoming calls will appear
onscreen in real time. You can access a log of your recent incoming calls by selecting “Call Log”
from the Messages section of the Menu Bar. If you prefer, you can disable Caller ID by accessing
OPTIONS, 4, 1.

Thanks for the question martingcook - I have forwarded this request to our Shaw Direct contact to get you an answer.
It should be just that simple, connecting the telephone line to the satellite receiver, and maybe turning on the 'call-alert' or 'call-display' feature in the receiver settings.
Hi there, great question!
So it really comes down to what sort of receiver you have; can you read the MDL number on the back of the receiver? Once you have this visit our website (Compare digital satellite TV receivers | Shaw Direct satellite TV) and see if your unit is caller ID capable.
If you do not see your receiver on this list, worry not! Just reply to my thread with the MDL and I will happily look up the details for you.
Additionally (before we get too far), you are unable to use our ID feature if you have home security system that runs through your home line. Just thought I would give you a heads up so we do not go through all of this trouble shooting for not!
