I got a replacement receiver for my non-working HDPVR DCX-350-M last week.
The service man brought be one because every day, for two weeks, that I turned my TV for the first time - I had NO AUDIO.
I had to do 1, 2 or 3 re-boots to get both Video and AUDIO.
I was using the main HDMI connection.
The replacement: same thing. He blamed it on my month-old Phillips HD TV.
His solution: 3 Component wires and 2 Audio cables. He said I will get video than with HDMI.
After he left, I changed it to HDMI and the 2 Audio Cables. That works but it should not be necessary.
Does anyone really think Component is better than HDMI? Is that part of the training the Shaw service people get?
