I am able to receive email but get an error message when I try to send. I used the suggested settings on the Shaw support page by it has not corrected the problem.
Computer: Dell laptop
OS: Windows 8
Email: Outlook 2010
Are you currently on your home internet connection or another Shaw connection? One of the most common situations is using mail.shaw.ca on port 25, which will only work while on our network. If that's the case or not, I'd recommend trying mail.shaw.ca on port 587 with SSL/TLS enabled with the same username/password as for your incoming settings.
If that doesn't work for you though, can you let us know what error you're receiving?
Sorry Matt - am traveling and have had sporadic internet access.
I have set the parameters suggested (I am travelling with my laptop) but I am still not able to send.
Here is the message:
Send test e-mail message: Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings.
That sounds like we need a shaw-moderator to confirm remote access is enabled for your email address
But yes, mail.shaw.ca port 587 SSL On
I will message you directly to look in to this further.
Please check the Inbox ^ above for a direct message from me.
