Over the last few months I have noticed channel 5 CTVBC freezes a lot. Sometimes momentary sometimes as long as 10 seconds or so. Extremely annoying at times. Anyone else have the same issue?
Have you noticed that any other channels freeze at any time? Usually this would be the result of a signal problem, so you could give the steps here a try:
How to troubleshoot poor picture quality / pixelation
Hopefully this helps, but let us know.
It mostly just happens on the one station, almost everytime I watch it. I'll go through all the step you suggested, but I figure its the station itself thats the issue.
For sure, hopefully those steps help, but I can definitely check that station from here and see if anyone else has sent up any complains about this if you can let me know what city you're in.
I'm in Kelowna.
Perfect, thanks I'll check that channel on a slingbox here and see if there's been anything reported.
Currently have that channel on and is freezing up alot, both during programing and commercials
Okay I've had a look on our end and I haven't been able to see where it's freezing, although I can't be sure I've checked on the same hubsite that you're on (there could be an issue with just one specific area). Nothing's been reported, so I'll look into it a bit further and make sure I check all possible feeds. If I find nothing, I'll get in touch with you through direct messaging to take a look at your cable box and possibly book a service call (as it could just be signal-related in your home or just outside).
Thx. Like I said before it is just the one channel, which is weird. I have disconnected power and cables, still happening. This has been going on for alot 2 months if not longer, but because it was only the one channel, never did anything about it. Sometimes it's worst then others. It is currently bad happening every few minutes, sometimes momentarily but as long as minute with screen completely blank. Now channel not working at all ref code S0a00
it's back now
I do have another, but never watch that tv. I'll have to test it out. Will let you know
Ok, it appears to be related to that particular tv and cable box. I will have replace the cables and spliter and maybe swap cable boxes to see whats what. Will be in touch. thx
Okay, thanks for checking that definitely narrows it down to a signal issue with that one box then. Hopefully you can fix it by changing the cables/splitter, but let me know if that doesn't work.
Actually just one quick question I should have asked earlier: do you have more than one cable box? If so, is this happening on all of them or just on one?
