Why is it Shaw never gives explanations for their outages?

In this day of modern technology and especially he fact voice is travelling over the cable now, whenever I see an outage (we are in one now, twice in two days) there is never an explanation for the outage? I can handle "we screwed up" or "xyz company dug up our lines", but it's always "we are working on the issue" and it's hours (or days) before it gets fixed, then still no explanation.

In these times your should really be more upfront with your customers that are paying for premium services...
