IPAD Mini Can't send email

I have a new IPAD mini and have followed the instructions to set up email on it using pop with pop.shaw.ca as the incoming and mail.shaw.ca as the outgoing smtp server. I can receive emails but not send them. This is the case with 2 email addresses. I am doing this away from my home. Any ideas? Every time I send I receive a message that my email address was rejected by the server. I see others have run into this but cant find a clear solution. Thank you.
