Not sure why, but my Mac Mail is no longer sending out my shaw email. Outgoing server is set at mail.shaw.ca. Any suggestions?
Are you receiving an error message when you try to send email? If so, can you include any errors you receive here?
Although you may not have made any changes, can you check the outgoing (SMTP) account settings in Mail and make sure they match the settings provided in Apple OS X Mail?
This is the error message I get.
The sender address email@example.com was rejected by the server mail.shaw.ca.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.

Thanks. I removed your email from the last reply as you probably don't want to share your email publicly. Can you send emails to any other address (one email you can use to test is email@example.com)? Please ensure you have deleted any unsent emails from your Outbox or Drafts folder first, before you try sending another test email.
OK, if you're not getting incoming email either there may be a general internet connection problem on that computer. Is the Mac that you're having trouble sending Mail on the same Mac you communicating with me on now?
Yes it is the same computer. It was sending fine a minute ago.
Can you please test that you can still sign in to your Webmail account fine? (http://webmail.shaw.ca)

Thanks for testing that out. I've just checked and we're not getting other reports of this problem tonight, so I don't believe what you're experiencing is due to a general issue. It's definitely odd that it would suddenly stop working for you like this though. Are you using a different internet connection tonight than you usually do? Can you try restarting your computer and let me know if that makes any difference?
That didn't do anything.
Is it possible that you are going through a different internet connection tonight than you usually do? You mentioned that you are unable to receive incoming email as well, do you receive an error when checking for emails?
No.... I only have one connection. I am now getting incoming, still no outgoing.
OK, glad to hear that the incoming is working. Can you check your Outgoing (SMTP) settings and confirm that they match the following (you'll want to substitute your username and password of course)? To bring up the following window:
1) In Mail choose Preferences from the Mail menu
2) Under the Accounts tab, next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) click Edit SMTP Server List
3) Click Advanced, and you should see this window:
If everything in here already looks correct, please try removing the existing SMTP server settings (using the - button) and add them again (using the + button). Let me know how that goes.
