What is the range for a wi-fi modem? How do I enlarge the area without having competition with the original modem?? This is what I have encountered.
You would only need one modem for your internet connection. if you upgrade to a wifi modem, it would replace your original "Surfboard" modem rather than compete with it. If you upgrade, we would take the original modem's serial number from active status on your account and we would replace it with that of the wifi modem.
It's difficult to really give a range for the wifi signal as it depends on your home. It should cover your entire home but... if the signal from the wifi modem to the TV has to pass near something that also emits a signal, such as a plasma TV, stereo speaker, cordless phone or microwave oven, your signal can weaken. The signal also could be weakened by passing around metal or through concrete.
