Is it true that one can no longer view Canadian programming on their Shaw Direct satellite dish when wintering in the USA?
Signal can still be received in the US at the moment. If you have any specific questions though about reception where you're going or about your account, just tag [shaw]sarah or [shaw]kristy, our Shaw Direct moderators (use the @ symbol), and they'll be happy to help.
No, there have been a few discussions about this, the Shaw Direct users in the US, report their signal still works.
You will get signal on F1R and F2, if your dish is big enough, nothing has changed.
The new G1 satellite, you will not get signal from.
We used the 600 series receiver in Arizona last year and had the larger dish. My question is and please excuse my lack of understanding of how this all works but we now access all the new channels at home with the smaller dish on our house so does the receiver just automatically know to just pick up the channels on the old satellites once we go back to Arizona? I guess I am asking if the receiver has been affected by the new satellite or if it just self adjusts to the new location. It seemed to work that way last year. Appreciate having a forum to ask these questions on!
I am not completely certain but sarah_sd our Shaw Direct Moderator should be able to address this question.
It will work the same,
The only difference is, when they start (I don't believe they have yet) using the new G1 satellite, the channels on it, you won't pickup in the US.
Thank you very much.
Hi Matt, we are in the USA now and are having a problem getting Shaw to refresh our signal down here. It is all set up and ready to go, just keeps coming up need a subscription. I had put it on a 2 week vacation but it should be on now. Can you help me out? Thanks much.
I'm not too sure what the deal is with the subscription message you're receiving to be honest, but sarah_sd would know (our Shaw Direct moderator). I've tagged her. I'm not sure if she's around today, so you can call Shaw Direct or chat in with the info here as well:

Thanks for getting back to me Matt. I tried calling Shaw but they said they cannot refresh our services as we are no longer in Canada but in the USA. Never had this kid of problem before trying to refresh, like I said all is good at this end just need the refresh. Appreciate ALL your help in this matter..
If your terminal was off when the service reactivated, your receiver won't have gotten the 'reactivate' signal.
You can do a signal refresh from shawdirect.ca as well
www.shawdirect.ca hover over Support
Under Receivers & Remotes is Receiver Refresh
Good call Kevin.
