We are having a problem with our Wifi for more than one week. Essentially it is non-exhistant. We also have internet and cable as part of our bundle and these seem fine. What do we need to do or is it something you need to do to restore WIFI?
Are you able to try a wired connection, instead of wireless?
Try resetting the wireless router/modem.
Are you using Shaw's WiFi modem combo unit? Or your own wireless router?
Were you able to get this issue resolved? Let us know if you require further assistance, we may be able to help from our side in resetting the modem and getting the WiFi signal back up and running.
I have a similar problem too i checked my internet speed and my ping is just always at the 800 i don't know if its my fault but it was perfectly fine 2 days ago and i havent done anything new like downloading or messing with wires it just started to become really laggy im guessing it might be a problem with signal?
It certainly could be a signal problem heyitskarl. Can you let us know if this is wireless only or are you seeing high latency while wired as well? Can you give the steps in here a shot to see if they help?
sorry for late reply.
the laptop is wired but it seems like after 1 minute of good latency it just spikes up to around 600 and stays there for some reason. I also tried the suggestion you gave me and it seems to have little effect.
heyitskarl Do you have anything that starts uploading? Backup? Sync application? p2p application? That is the normal cause
Are you noticing this when playing online games or is this issue happening when simply surfing? Also, as kevinds asked, are any other programs running at start-up that require a network connection?
It is happening with both it seems when i play games the ping shows around 500 and when i go on websites it takes awhile it load (30 seconds approx) and youtube video's never seem to load well.
Sorry for the late reply. I'd like to take a look at your connection from our end. Please check your Inbox for a Direct message from me.
