SMCD3GN Wireless Gateway Offline For 6 Days

 

Hey everyone,

 

I'm going to skip everything and get right to my problem

 

Offline light is off

 

DS light is on

 

US light is blinking

 

Link is solid

 

Diag is off

 

Wifi light is solid

 

LAN lights are showing activity i.e. fine

 

Power is obviously on

 

I'm using a my roomate's phone to type this through hotspot on my PC

 

I've called Shaw 4 days ago and was told I'd have a tech out a day or two after I made call to replace gateway & check lines.

 

I live in an apartment.

 

TV cable is perfectly fine.

 

When I was connected I would sometimes get DNS errors in a few games and NAT on Xbox would be moderate.

 

I asked about using bridge mode, but agent on phone "Jay" said they don't do it anymore.

I've tried EVERYTHING, except for replacing the device. I had issues before and it sorted out after the unit cooled down for a few hours. Power cycling does nothing, factory reset; same issue as before. Direct coaxial connection to wall; nothing. The cooldown hasn't done anything.

 

I had a small/short power surge/outage about day before the problems occurred, so that might be the cause. I have unchecked "Enable uPnP" as suggested by a forum user.

 

Please respond if you have anything I can do, or a way to get a tech here ASAP.

UPDATE:


After switching to another part of the room the online light turns on, but if I plug in my own router it goes out.
