My modem appears to be powering on and off on its own.
The DIAG light remains a solid amber while the modem is on.
Apparently this means a system failure.
Yes, I have unplugged it several times.
Any idea how to fix this or is the modem toast?

Have you tried a hard reset yet? To do this you will need a paper clip, or something that size. Hold down the reset button (found on the back right hand side) for 30 seconds. All the should power off then start to flash again.
JUst tried that and now the power, ds, us and wps lights are flashing. They have been flashing for at least 10 minutes.
