I have just installed Shaw Secure and it won't let me do a quick scan at all. Says my computer is at risk. Won't let me turn on Real Time. What to do? Does this mean I have a Virus????
Are you able to run any kind of scan? Is there a specific error you are getting when you try to? If you have a screenshot of what you are seeing that might also help us identify exactly what is happening.
I have just finished experiencing the same issue while downloading and installing 18 Windows 8 updates. McAfee had failed updating during this process and was red flagging Real Time scanning, Firewall and would not allow me to scan run any scans. I re-booted one more time after al the Windows re-boots and forced McAfee to update. It seemed to take longer than anticipated but eventually stated the update had been completed. All red flags are now gone and I am running a full system scan as we speak.
Perhaps this is the same series of events that the k-c-sisters experienced. I hope their issue has been re-solved to their satisfaction. This is the first issue I have had with Shaw Secure in 4 years and I am not convinced it was entirely the sole culprit in this case.
Thanks for posting purche, ensuring Shaw Secure is updated properly should resolved most problems.
firstname.lastname@example.org, if you're still having issues even after trying to update and checking to ensure that the date/time is correct on your computer, I would recommend removing Shaw Secure with the removal tool here, then reinstalling it through the Customer Centre.
Hopefully this takes care of the problem for you.
