Is there a special audio cable to connect receiver to Samsung Plasma TV? We have no sound but have picture. Audio cable we have worked with our LG HDTV?
Depends on which Samsung TV it is, if it has an HDMI input, that should be enough.
If it uses Component or DVI, it will need an audio cable, but need to know how you have things hooked up, and the model if you are using a DVI input.
HDMI to DVI with our old audio cable (used to work) but not with the new TV.
Check that they may be more than one place to plug the audio cable in, or your TV may require a different audio cable.
Which model of TV do you have? What type of audio cable is your old one? Headphone jack to RCA? RCA to RCA?
DVI is for video but not audio. Which receiver do you have? If it and your TV both have HDMI ports, have you tried an HDMI cable yet? If it's an older receiver and doesn't have HDMI. which cable did you use to connect it to your old TV?
We used a HDMI to DVI cable to connect, our receiver doesn't have a HDMI port
PN51F5300 is the Model 51" 1080P Plasma
RCA to RCA is the cable we are using right now, there is only one place to plug into TV, The only jacks on the TV are Video, Component, Audio L & R.
There might be a setting on your TV where you need to enable that audio port. It's possible that it's disabled by default.
According to the TV manual.
"PC/DVI AUDIO IN input is not supported"
So, with your model of TV, you can't have an audio cable with the HDMI-DVI cable.
To continue using that terminal and TV, you will need to change to the component cable, Red Blue Green Red White
