Gateway system blanking out

For the last two nights our gateway system stopped working and put up an error message saying contact Shaw and giving the phone number and an error number, I think it was 5101 or something like that. Last night we called Shaw but the system reset itself after about 20 minutes and long before the Shaw callback. Tonight I powered the system off and then back on and after about 5 minutes it came back up.

What's going on?
