I have installed a new DCX3200 HD box and find it to be painfully slow to react to a command from the remote. It eventually will react, but up to 5 seconds later. Is this normal?
It is possible that a signal issue could be causing these slow responses. I'd like to take a closer look at your account and possibly book a service tech if needed.

Sorry that your question wasn't replied to sooner. Is this still occurring? I understand that your HD box is new, but have you tried powercycling yet (disconnect power, wait 5-10 seconds, then reconnect)?
It is normal to notice a bit of a delay at times between when you press a button to when the command actually registers, but 5 seconds seems unusually long, so let us know if this continues.
(You can also try increasing the font size from within Grid Settings under the Guide Settings menu. Some have reported that this increases the response time of the HD Guide as it does not need to load as much information at once. More information on adjusting the font size setting available here .High Definition Guide - Guide Settings)
YES! This is so frustrating. I've had this on a regular basis. There is no rhyme or reason and restarting the box does nothing. Its like they put in the cheapest processor they could buy and then decided to add the new guide on top of it and it can't cope. Honestly I would rather have the old fast responsive guide with a full screen version so I can see more channels.
On top of that, we get a rate hike and no change in service. Up till this month we have always been grandfathered with our service and price, except for one rate hike that also resulted in a faster internet connection (from 1Mb to 2.5Mb). At this rate with such crappy hardware and rate hikes, during my next move I will not subscribe to shaw, and probably just get Telus internet and Netflix. Everything else is available for free (with ads) already (Comedy network, Discovery, Space, All the major carriers).
Re-booting the box does nothing. The box receives the signal, it just doesn't process it, so how can it be a signal issue?
Good morning email@example.com
Over the years I have seen signal issues affect a variety of things but I could very likely be wrong in this case. I have shared this thread with a couple people in the office to see if anyone is aware of a known issue or any other troubleshooting steps we can try.
firstname.lastname@example.org and shalaxam
I have double checked that this is not a known issue with this model. There will be a slightly longer delay with the new HD guide than with the older guide, but 5 seconds is not a normal amount of time.
These delays are often caused by signal issues but could also be due to overheating, IR interference or a simple remote issue.
I have sent you a direct message as well email@example.com to take a closer look at your account.

My box has been giving me the same problem. I'll hit page down on the guide and nothing, 2-3-4 seconds delayed reaction. when I hit PG DN again, it jumps 2 pages. Very annoying
Are the page +/- the only commands that are slow to respond?
NO,all commands - page up, page down, left, right. Just like the previous reply.
Hello again firstname.lastname@example.org
I did send you a direct message asking for some additional information. If you could please respond to the message we sent we can take a closer look at the issue.
Your replies to email@example.com are coming to my mail box ??
That may be why they did not respond to you
Any time someone replies to any post on this thread you will receive a notification to your inbox. A direct message is slightly different and is only sent to one person privately.
Not limited to + / - buttons. arrow up, down left, right, even enter can be problematic. Fresh batteries in the remote were no more effective.
Have you tried disconnecting the power from the box for 30 seconds yet? Do you have an alternate remote you can test with?
I have disconnected the power for more than a minute, same results, and I have 3 remotes I've been testing.
with pretty much the same result.
