I just got the cable connected and decided to move the equipment what I'd like to know is where do the cable go. I have a complete setup prv, modem, and telephone. Need help with the gateway connections
Cable from Setup
One to the Internet Modem
One to the Telephone modem
One (the 3.5 leg if it has it indicated) goes to the MoCA filter - cylinder tube, which goes to a splitter for your Gateway system, Gateway and Portals
If you have other cable hardware, including analog TVs, this basic setup will need to be modified
The only thing I'd like to add to Kevinds setup, is that it is prefered that the MoCA filter gets put on the input of the splitter for the MoCA network.
At a glance it is easier to see what splitter is the MoCA network, even from across the room. It also maximizes the the effectiveness of the the filter itself, but realistically by a very small degree.
I allways wondered if the filter worked better with the MoCA signal on the male end side vs the female end, good to know it doesn't matter
Think of all RF passives as basic water valves. It doesn't matter what direction the water is flowing in, the same restrictions apply. There are very miniscule differences from male to female side, but not enough to make a difference in the home setup.
