Slow connects to west coast US routers

Good day...

Ever since an outtage approximately 3 weeks ago, my internet speed to the US... ( I am an online gamer) has doubled. This means that for years I have played with 65 to 95MS response tmes. Now, the best I can hope for is 127 to 140MS times. According to a tracert it appears we are now routed through Chicago, and one particular router seems to be the problem. It literally cuts our speeds in half all by itself. In this day and age there should be no reason for this other than a broken router. Can Shaw do anything about routing from Edmonton?? This is anoying as it also causes dropped connections, and game play freezes. I have a good friend here in Edmonton that plays where I do and I used to just kick his speeds.... he is now faster than I am on that other DSL network. Thought I would put this up for a response even though you at Shaw probably already know this...

Thanks
