my phone calls only last 36 seconds, any ideas how to fix that
Does this happen with any call, local or long distance? I would suggest resetting the phone modem, instructions can be found here https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-2167

Tried the reset, it lasted two days. Then back to the original problem.
Talked to second Shaw person, the box is a Motorola he ran tests on the box, believes it is not the box. Has booked service call to check the existing phone lines. Will try to talk service person to swap out to other box.
it was happening on all calls, local, in, out, long distance, even the call back from shaw!! I had to give my cell number as the call was dropped before the connection to the help desk.
Sorry to hear a reset didn't do the trick for you d.wilkie but if we've booked you a service call that would mean we've tried what we can from the office. We can get this sorted out for you when we're there.

Replaced the Motorola box with a new one, not Motorola and now it works fine.
