no dial tone. " check tel line". Are there area problems going on?
Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this interruption in your phone service at the moment. Are you seeing any lights on your phone terminal and if so, can you tell me what lights you're seeing?
Please also check out No Dial Tone on All Phones support article for suggestions, but if you still need help please be sure to let me know!
Hi. The 'telephone 1' light is flashing, the 'link' light is off. All other lights are on.
Sounds like the Shaw phone modem is connected. Were you able to try a reset or any of the other troubleshooting steps in the document Jeff posted? Also do you hear a busy tone or just dead air?
did the reset. tel 1 and 2 lights did not blink simultaneously after reset. I did get a brief dial tone followed by loud, rapid beeping then dead air.
Can you please try connecting your phone direct to the phone modem next? Here are instructions for that step https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-1013.
OK. Connected my phone to the modem and got the dial tone. Also noticed 2 loose wires on the panel. They appear to have popped out or fallen out of the blue connectors that are about an inch long. Do you think that may be the problem?
I'm not sure I can really picture what you mean by panel or the blue connectors. When we get dial tone after bypassing the house wiring that usually means that one of the phone jacks is to blame. If you connect back to a phone jack is there still a busy tone now? If so then we will need to send out a service technician.
Connected back to a phone jack and now it's just dead air. The "panel" is the wooden panel that the modem is attached to. The blue connectors are the things that hold spliced wires together. I think a tech is in order.
Sure, I will send you a direct message to book a service call. You can connect your phone back to the phone modem for the time being.
