Portal keeps disconnecting frequently, help?

I recently upgraded to a gateway system with 2 portals which was working great until recent. The ill be in the middle of watching a show (live or recorded) and the screen freezes then the error code 5102 pops up saying unable to detect gateway? Weird, I was just watching on it... Then sometimes it will start working again immediately or it'll take a while to get it working again. Bit it won't happen to both portals at the same time. Usually one is always working but they both lose connection to the gateway.I've tried all the usual attempts, resetting, changing rooms, unplugging and replugging. Nothing seems to get it running like it was before and don't really feel like waiting a lengthy time for a service tech If I can avoid it. Any suggestions or similar issues with the portals  having intermittent connection to the gateway?
