I can't send shaw email from my macbook pro

Question asked by rthunt on Nov 1, 2013

I have a macbook pro ungraded with the latest OS X. I recently changed my wifi hub to the Apple Airport Time Capsule. I have lost the ability to send emails. I was getting a message that my server rejected my username. I have gone into my settings and have change the settings as per the Shaw support page

  1. Select Account Information
  2. Select the tab next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and choose Edit SMTP Server List...
  3. Enter the Server Name: mail.shaw.ca
  4. Select Advanced
  5. Enter the following information: (Figure E)
      • Use Custom Port: 587
      • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Yes (enter a check mark)
      • Authentication: Password
      • User Name: Your Shaw email address without @shaw.ca
      • Password: Your Shaw email password

Now it just keeps asking for my password everytime I try to send
