I understand Shaw has finally entered the 21st century and will slowly be increasing our upload speeds to match our upload speeds, like other competitors, especially those who are giving fibre to their customers.
Is there a map or status update portal where we can see the progress?
Upgrade our upload speeds to match the download speeds?
This I haven't heard... Not sure this will ever happen on cable..
So wheres this rumor from? And in Canada? Shaw? Cable? Upload even getting close to our download?
No.... or well its *possible*, but at what price+how many decades on contract.......
An actual Shaw tech.
Telus customers have matching download and upload speeds, btw.
Only Telus customers on Pure Fibre, which while growing, still isn't that many..
In my neighbourhood with many apartment buildings most are on Telus with fibre, besides Telus has been doing a lot of canvassing and many of the buildings in the area are now designated as "Telus buildings". In our case, we were forced to allow Telus to come into our suite to install Fibre. With this kind of approach, I think there are many people who are on Telus now.
Well, other than the port blocking, their fiber internet is significantly better.. That will cause people to switch too..
